I’ve been across the King Fahad Causeway a few times over the past two years.  I’ve never been able to get any reasonable shots of the journeys.  Most of my crossings were in the night, and the only time I went during the day – it was a very hazy one.

Last week, I was attending a conference in Saudi Arabia but I stayed in Bahrain.  I crossed four times over two days, and these are some of the shots at different times of the day(s).

  1. I love the mirror shot!

Nice shots! I went up til the Saudi border when I was in Manama on a project. Its cool at night, the Saudi tower is lit up in green and the Bahraini one is red

    • It does look impressive. I too like to two-colour effect.

  2. Very nice shots! It seems you weren’t driving! At the Saudi border they checked my camera once or twice when I was crossing, they always want to see!

    • Same here… Every time. Once I had photos of Bahraini new buildings. They asked me to delete them!

      I think they think I did 🙂

  3. that is a steep climb! almost like a rollercoaster ride!! 🙂
the causeway link was interesting, the construction, aerial view, the very idea!

    • The hige section is of course to allow larger ships through. I imagined it would be bigger.

  4. nice mirror shot 🙂

  5. Awesome shots Bu. I love reading about your world. Its so different from mine.
Then again, somehow the causeway reminds me of the San Mateo Bridge near where I live.

    • Thank you 🙂
Everywhere I go anywhere in the world seems to be different – yet somehow familiar.
