That wonderful scent of honey filling the space around this plant is what makes it one of my favourites for this time of year.  I’m not sure why, but I seem to do better with the white variety and not so well with the purple.  Great clusters of little white flowers contrasting with the bright green foliage means they’re always a nice addition wherever you choose to place them.

If you have empty pots lying around, or if a neglected bed is looking at you every time you’re in the garden, this is the perfect friend for the next few months.  It grows beautifully, smells like a breeze from paradise and is very easy to care for (water it when it doesn’t rain).  You shouldn’t pay more than 1KD for 7 shrubs.  I only have little space and above are my 7 which joined us last Saturday.

Enjoy.

First of all I thought this said, ”I love the smell of asylums in the morning”………………..

  2. My favourite flower smell is jasmine. Do you have that in Kuwait?

It’s a beautiful photo by the way. Very relaxing.

  3. Are they very sensitive? Can they live outdoors in Kuwait?

  4. — Thank you sadia and teachthemasses for the nice comments.

We do have Jasmine here and it’s a hardy plant that lasts all year. That’s over 50C in the summer and almost freezing in the winter.

They’re really not as sensitive as they look. Once in the soil, they will look a little weak for a day or two and suddenly they start to enjoy life. They can be outdoors in Kuwait from now until the end of April.

A refreshing photo. I actually checked it earlier around 6 a.m. this morning and it was truly invigorating, just what I needed to get some work done 😉

  5. Great photograph…hard to believe its among all the hustle-bustle around us 🙂

I am not an expert – so please double check (or try and see).
There is no best place, just choose the healthiest looking one from the garden centres on the 4th Ring Road. You can trim it into a hedge or allow it to climb. I have it as a ball and only allow it to go “wild” in the flowering season between late March and the summer. If you find one with buds at the garden centre – take the one with the strongest scent. The buds’ scent is actually stronger than the flowers’. I’ve seen white, yellow and blue. Again for some odd reason the white one survived – the blue didn’t. You can plant it any time. Make sure it gets good sun for at least half the day. Good luck.

Thanks darling – It’s hard to believe we live in this “hustle-bustle”. Can’t wait for the building site to become a neighborhood.
Your blog is looking great btw 🙂
