It was time to test the high ISO capability of my camera.  This was taken last night shortly after take off from LHR.  We were high up, it was dark and partly cloudy.  The result was not perfect – but I hope you will agree it’s worth sharing.

The river Thames meandures around the Financial District in London.  The dark clouds above tell a story of the financial troubles the world is facing.  Hope it’s a clear day soon for all.

  1. LOVE the photo. The gathering clouds add an element of drama that a strictly clear night time photo would lack. Wow!

    The result was not perfect

You must be jesting? The result is very reflective, msh’Allah.

How did you manage to take a photo with a high ISO with hardly no hint of noise in the photo?

Wonderful picture. I also agree with Intlxpatr about the clouds. Wonderful, msh’Allah.

  2. Man this ISO feature is very cool,i discovered it lately try shooting some one -not literally-with some lights behind them…any light could be street lights, shops, TV just any source of light what so ever…and once u press the button move the camera slowly in a circular motion.

Thank you for the nice comment.
    You’re right about the clouds.

The photo is much larger than above. The original has a lot of noise – hence my comment about it not being perfect. 🙂

    “shoot someone” 🙂
The art (and fun) of photography is the tweaking of these settings and enjoying the results. I will try your suggestion.

  4. At this resolution, noise is not a factor! Good work!

  5. Thanks Abid.

  6. Nice, looks like rivers of lava.
