I wish everyone a blessed month, full of answered prayers and contentment.
مبارك عليكم الشهر و كل عام و أنتم بخير

Photograph taken earlier this evening in Sabah Al Salem area.  It was so humid outside it felt like under-water photography.

A nice picture none the less 🙂
    Ramadan Kareem!

  1. Thanks 8bitsofcoffee 🙂

  2. I know that mosque! Isn’t that the mosque with the blue dome that you can see from 30?

Abu Yousef, why are there two mosques so close to each other? Just to the left of that blue domes/single spire mosque is a larger mosque with two squared minarets. Maybe 300 yards separate them. I don’t understand.

  3. You’re right. That’s the one.

I think we have the highest number of mosques per person in the world. Apart from the one you mention, there is also one for the new hospital (within the walls) – and in Sabah Al Salem area there are even more.

There is no reason. In Mangaf, the new areas are built with shops an mosque nearly for every neighbourhood. It sounds a bit much, but looking ahead at our population growth expectations, they will always be filled.

I should say that In this particular case, there is one mosque belonging to the Shi’i sect of Islam, and another near by for the Sunni sect. There is no religion-based reason not to pray in the same mosque – but historically this has happened. This doesn’t mean that everytime there are two mosuques in close proximity – that there are two sects represented.

I personally pray in any mosque wherever I am in the country. Good to have a choice 🙂

  4. I love this photo. It is a contender in my book!
