The weather has been fantastic over the past few days. I’ve been a little too busy to step out and use this time of year to its full. Yesterday, I was in the city and I had my small camera with me. I took the coastal route to Shuwaikh – and stopped at one of my favourite photo locations: Shuwaikh Beach. It offers a wonderful vantage point, and the algae lines provide an interesting lead into the scene.
Not a bad result, really, for a small camera… Have a look at the larger version. The Canon G11 must be the best point-and-shoot out there.

nice
yes we’re lucky to have such nice weather this week. Nice picture Bu Yousef
Small camera is always forgiving. Nice picture! Looking forward to getting there. Do people swim in the water? Does the water have tide? Do people do kayaking?
Yes; yes; and not much.
We’re more jet-ski people… Anything requiring muscles is replaced with engine power. Far many more power boats in our marinas than sail boats in Kuwait.
Cool shot. I think the P&S cameras of today have usable algorithms, but I love the option to do RAW processing of the G11. Is that what you did?
I bought the G11 because of its RAW capability (& more)… but on this shot, it was baked into a JPEG from the start. I did however use iPhoto to touch up the levels (removing glare), and cropped the image slightly.
The weather has been decent these days! And I love the G11! it does a fantastic job!
