This is one place I haven’t visited on my previous trips to Cairo. Today, I managed to find some time to go to the Cairo Citadel and take a few shots.
It was a flying visit – an hour or so including my journey there and back to the hotel. I did however get a good feel of the place. Unfortunately I also saw what I expected: a disorganised, messy and unmaintained site.
The Mohammad Ali Mosque was very interesting… I love the design from outside and in. The height of this area also offers great views of the city. Have a look at the pollution which seemed especially bad today.

Great pictures! I love pic# 4. If you shot it in RAW it would make for a great HDR!
Please try it
Thanks… It was JPEG. I don’t have photoshop. Is there a good free software that allows me to combine shots that way?
I use photomatix but there are some free softwares available.

That mosque reminds me of Turkey, Haia Sofia Mosque! Beautiful shots, fifth one being my favorite!
