I'm afraid I don't know anything about HDR. It's on the list of things I want to learn. If in fact one can do the effect on a picture taken already, I will make this one my first.

- MacaholiQ8

Thank you :)

I travel often so my favorite is 18-200 lens with my Nikon DSLR. It means I don't have to carry any other equipment.

Thank you :)

The sunset is a relatively short window but I must admit I took almost 50 shots at different settings to choose my favorite later. Traditional photographers hate people like me - but whilst I agree that my approach lacks the attention to detail and knowledge - this is the joy of the digital age. We are all, to a certain degree, experts!

Thank you 8bitsofcoffee, inltxpatr and Yousef. Appreciate your generously nice comments.

-- intlxpatr
I saw in Al Qabas daily (yesterday) a group of gitls taking photos with a poster announcing the design/build of a new mosque in Germany. I love the idea and will post some of the main London mosque if I can find one in my files. Otherwise, as you said - next time.

In the meantime, have a look at this old post of mine... it's about the first (oldest) mosque in Europe outside Spain:

Oh, WOW. WOW. WOW.

I love the way the pier bisects the photo, and the subtle shimmering light flowing from beneath, and the poisonous looking haze into which the sun is setting. It is GORGEOUS!

I also think your sunrise over Kuwait the day you didn't get anything to drink during Ramadan shoots anything I have shot out of the water, proverbially speaking. :-) Mabruk! Well done!
